JewelleryNow is dedicated to offering
the highest standards of customer service and care. Therefore we take the issue
of your privacy seriously, and our commitment to you on this is expressed in
our Privacy Policy. Any customer information collected will be done so lawfully
(in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and in compliance with the
SafeBuy Code of Conduct.
When you place an order, JewelleryNow only collects
sufficient personal information to process your order. We do not collect
information deemed "sensitive" under the Data Protection Act 1998. Your address
details (but NOT your credit card details, see below) are retained on a
restricted access system within the UK and in accordance with our internal
security policy and the law. You may opt to make your address details
accessible to yourself online by creating a JewelleryNow Account with password
access. While creating an Account will facilitate future ordering and also
entitle you to periodic additional discounts and promotions, please note that
the prevention of unauthorised access to your details will depend on your
vigilance in maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
If you
did not set up a JewelleryNow Account when placing an order, you may check any
information we may still hold by emailing a request to us. If you find any
inaccuracies, we will delete or correct them promptly. Details for non-account
holders are only held for a certain time after the transaction, and in no event
more than 2 years.
JewelleryNow does not retain your credit or debit card
details on its systems. When you reach the page for entering your card
information, you are connected directly to the Protx secure server - you can
tell this by the change in the web address on your browser. Protx are our
payment service provider, and will process any charges or refunds to your card.
We use Protx because they offer the leading industry standard in secure payment
transactions, and they are one of the largest Internet payment service
providers in the UK.
JewelleryNow will not divulge ANY information concerning its
customers or visitors to any third party except and unless required by law.
Information required to fulfil certain orders may be given to agents of the
company for the sole purpose of fulfilling that order under contractual
agreement with the company.
Other than for order fulfilment or
contacting the customer regarding their order, personal information will only
be used in aggregate form to provide the company with demographic data or
statistical trends, which may be shared with third parties.
We would like to keep
you informed of our special events and other news via our occasional
Newsletters, but should you prefer not to receive these you may check the opt-
out box at the time of placing your order. You will receive a confirmation
email from Protx on the successful placing of an order. Upon despatch of the
product you will also receive your invoice by email.
If you enter the
prizedraw a confirmation email will be sent to you which includes a simple
opt-out should you not wish to receive any further emails or our newsletters.
We do not send random marketing emails to personal email addresses (spam).
Your email address is not made available to anyone outside the
company.
JewelleryNow does not use any technology
which can identify users of the site. However we do use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help JewelleryNow analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
